Eastern Motor Racing Association: Race & Enduro

You finally have gone to the edge and actually enjoyed it! Your daily commuter is a tow vehicle, and the runabout has become the ride of your life.. Seems like the world has gone crazy...Nah!!! You've become a RACER!!!!

Welcome to EMRA Race & Enduro. EMRA sanctions 10-12 race and enduro events a season. Most of our events are in the Northeast, with the season ending exception at Summit Point. Care to know more, then I invite you to read on.

The Who, What and Where's of EMRA Racing follow.

EMRA Race & Enduro......

EMRA's road racing series consist of Sprint Races (12-18 laps) and timed Enduros (one(1) to four(4) hours long). Sprint Races and Enduros are always held on the same raceday or weekend. Check with EMRA's Race & Enduro Schedule for exact dates and tracks.

The Sprint Races are run in three(3) groups; Formula Cars (FF, FV, CF,SR,S2000,FA,F5000), Big Bore (GT, AS, ITA, ITS, SSA, STGT, ST1, ST2), and Small Bore (ITB, ITC, ST3, ST4, ST5, SSB, SSC). These class structures are for comparsion with the SCCA. For exact car classification please see EMRA Car Classifications and GCR's

EMRA runs races under the following class alignments:

  • Formula:FF,FV,CF, FA,S2000,F5000
  • Big Bore: GT1, GT2, GT3, Truck, ST1, ST2, ST3, ST4
  • Small Bore: ST5, ST6, ST7, SSB, SSC, SR, SRF

Enduros are run with one group. The classes are handicapped based on EMRA's class lap records. All cars, but Formula's, are eligible to enter. One or more pit stops are usually mandatory. Multiple drivers are not required (except in the four(4) hour event), but are recommended. Download EMRA's Enduro Rules (pdf, ~90k) for further details.

What's Required.....

EMRA adheres to much of the SCCA's General Competition Rules. I ask you turn to EMRA Car Classifications and GCR's for further detailed information. Rule book request and other questions regarding driver & car eligibility should be addressed to EMRA's Race Chairman-Darrel Stein .

Any driver wishing to run with EMRA must possess a competition license from a recognized sanctioning body. Drivers who do not meet this criteria or are wishing to obtain an EMRA competition license must enter one of EMRA's racing schools. The race schools are held several times a year, and provide students with off and on track instruction. Race preparation, advanced driving techniques, race stragedy and EMRA rules are discussed. A student that successfully completes the school will be granted his\her competition license. Drivers, whom are new to racing and EMRA, must complete two Time Trial events before being permitted to enroll in the school.

I strongly suggest, prior to entering one of EMRA's race events, that you contact an EMRA representative.. They will be able to answer your questions and provide further information regarding EMRA Race and Enduro's.
